Emilia Clarke is filming scenes for Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion series.
Secret Invasion, a Disney+ original series in development, will star Clarke. While no one knows the role she'll play, she and co-star Samuel L. Jackson were finally spotted on the set filming the show.

Clarke's first photos from the set were widely shared by fans on Twitter. Emilia expressed her excitement for being a part of the Marvel universe in an interview with ComicBook.com last year.
"I think what they're doing right now is so exciting and cool, the highlight of it all. I think, 'Oh my God, I'm in a bunch of cool kids. It's so cool.' I do, " the actress said at the time.
Ben Mendelssohn, Olivia Coleman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Carmen Eyogo, Christopher MacDonald, and Killian Scott will star alongside Emilia, Jackson, and Smalders in The Secret Invasion.
The star has been cast in a mystery role, but there has been a lot of hearsay among comic book enthusiasts. Emilia was seen on the set with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Maria Kobe Smalders), sparking suspicion that she could be playing Abigail Brand from the films.
We can only guess who Clarke will be in the series, but Jackson will undoubtedly play his part as Nick Fury. He'll appear alongside Ben Mendelsohn as Talos and Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill in the series. Other cast members include Olivia Colman, Christopher McDonald, Killian Scott, and Carmen Ejogo. Kingsley Ben-Adir will also portray a villain.
Phase Four of the MCU includes Secret Invasion. Kyle Bradstreet created the show, which is based on the same-named Marvel Comics storyline. Along with Kevin Feige, Louis D'Esposito, Victoria Alonso, and Jonathan Schwartz, Bradstreet works as the show's head writer and producer. The series is produced by Marvel Studios.
It's possible that Emilia Clarke will continue to play this role in the future unless Secret Invasion will just be a one-off appearance for this mysterious character. Clarke has been unable to discuss her long-term plans for her new role in the MCU because she is prohibited to reveal any details about her character.
She did say that if the part called for it, she'd be happy to stay on, so if this is a major character, we might indeed see her progressing on to other MCU projects.
“I mean, I should be so lucky is what I’ll say to that,” Clarke told THR last year. “Everyone I know and everyone I’ve spoken to who is a part of the Marvel universe — and actors talk! Everyone has only the highest praise to offer. There’s a reason why actors stay in it. They’re so loved because they’re having loads of fun. So I’m down for that.”
Clarke is perhaps best recognized for her role as Daenerys Targaryan on HBO's Game of Thrones. Despite the fact that the series ended in controversy, Clarke's acting was widely admired during the show's run. She has also played Sarah Connor in Terminator Genisys, Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and Susan Smith in Above Suspicion. Also starring Hugh Laurie, David Thewlis, and Gemma Arterton, the actress has a voice role in the upcoming animated film The Amazing Maurice.
Secret Invasion is set to premiere on Disney+ in late 2022, but the streaming service has yet to announce an exact date.
