Although sometimes a bit notorious, potatoes are rich in nutrients, and their juice is extremely effective for many conditions, as well as in beauty care.

Potato is one of the most common foods in the world, and its juice is full of densely packed nutrients. This is a great way to provide the body with an abundance of minerals such as potassium, calcium, iron, phosphorus, and copper, or vitamins (mostly from the B complex), and is used for more health problems, to strengthen the body and for beauty.

It has been determined that potato juice has a beneficial effect on the immune system because it contains a large amount of vitamin C, and due to its anti-inflammatory properties, it has a positive effect on people with arthritis and, in general, joint pain. As it protects the stomach, this juice can be an excellent ally in the fight against stomach ulcers, and in Japan, it is used for people with hepatitis and, in general, for cleansing the liver and gallbladder.

Potato juice also helps lower cholesterol, thanks to vitamin A, B vitamins, and vitamin C, and is also useful for headaches, migraines, stress, and all kinds of pain. It can also be helpful in constipation and cleansing the digestive tract of toxins, and it is effective against infections and accelerates wound healing. Thanks to niacin, potato juice provides energy and improves oxygen flow, thus encouraging better circulation.

A study from 2016 showed that potato glycoalkaloids have an anti-cancer effect, and it was determined that with its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, potato juice is an excellent prevention of the development of cardiovascular diseases. With all that, potato juice can be helpful if you want to lose weight! Although you should be careful with potatoes in your diet if you want to lose weight, its vitamin C speeds up your metabolism and helps you lose weight, according to a joint study by the University of Arizona and Columbia University.

As if all this is not enough, potato juice hydrates the skin, and when rubbed regularly on the face in a mixture with yogurt and kept for 15 minutes, it can gradually lighten the skin slightly and make it firmer, more hydrated, and more beautiful. Moreover, it is so hydrating that it alleviates the symptoms of eczema, and everything that is good for the skin is also good for the hair, so the hair mask made of potato juice provides shine and radiance.

Recipe for potato juice

Wash the potatoes well and clean any green stains or germs. Then peel it and grate it as finely as possible. There are two ways to get juice:

  • Put grated potatoes in gauze and squeeze well
  • Put it in a juicer and strain it.

How to drink it?

Potato juice is ideally drunk fresh, but it can also stay in the fridge. However, try not to stock up because it is ideal to drink it within 20 minutes of squeezing. If you want to store it, it should be kept in a hermetically sealed glass jar, but it should not be kept in the refrigerator for more than two days.

The most important thing is to know that potato juice should not be overdone because it can cause diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting in excessive amounts. In addition, potatoes have a high glycemic index, so diabetics must be extremely careful with it.
