Should you buy the Range Rover Evoque ?

Range Rover is a brand that has garnered interest and love from people all over the world. The Range Rover Evoque will undoubtedly be the subcompact SUV segment’s style icon in 2023. Sadly, in terms of usefulness, it lags behind the segment leaders. Its interior space and cargo capacity aren’t as spacious as those of rivals like the Volvo XC40, BMW X1, and Mercedes-Benz GLB-class. In addition, these SUVs are more fun to drive than the Evoque. For the Evoque, there are two turbocharged four-cylinder engines, but because of their mediocre fuel efficiency, none will save you much money at the pump. What actually makes the Evoque enticing are its striking design, minimalist interior, and cachet as a luxury brand. Also, its raised seating position gives it a more SUV-like feel in comparison to certain lower-riding competitors. You can always trust the brand Range Rover just like the former late Queen Elizabeth II did. She was seen a few years back driving a car from Range Rover on her family holiday and a couple of times traveling by it in the city.

The Range Rover Evoque in Delhi on Road price is 85,29,479.

What is different for Evoque 2023?

The Evoque is largely unchanged for the 2023 model year, however it now includes Amazon Alexa. The Pivi Pro infotainment system in the Evoque is where the voice assistant is found as a standard feature throughout the series.

We’d suggest the mid-range R-Dynamic SE model to add extras like a power liftgate, 14-way power-adjustable front seats, automatic high-beam headlights with auto-leveling, LED daytime running lights, and 20-inch wheels.

Specifications:

  • Diesel fuel type
  • 1997 cc in displacement
  • 246.7 horsepower at a maximum speed of 5500 rpm
  • 430 Nm at a maximum speed of 1750 to 2500 rpm
  • 4 cylinders
  • 4 valves per cylinder
  • There is a turbocharger, an automated transmission, and a 9-speed gearbox.
  • AWD Drive Type
  • 66 diesel fuel tanks are available, and the top speed is 221 kmph.

Performance:

The Evoque comes standard with an all-wheel-drive system and a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 246 horsepower, known as the P250. In our test track, the Evoque ran from 0 to 60 mph in 7.1 seconds.

The Range Rover remains extremely competitive even though rivals like the BMW X1 and Volvo XC40 offered slightly quicker times. Only the HST R-Dynamic with the highest specification has the more potent P300 engine. On our test track, the P300’s potent 296 horsepower engine achieves a 6.6-second zero-to-60-mph speed thanks to the 48-volt hybrid technology. On the road, the Evoque cannot be mistaken for a hatchback like the X1. It feels substantial, and the seat height is suitable for an SUV.

Real-world fuel usage and MPG:

Real-world fuel usage and MPG:  The P250 only managed 24 mpg in our motorway fuel-economy test traveling at 75 mph.

Interior, comfort, and cargo:

Sadly, the Evoque’s bulky outward dimensions don’t correspond to the small interior, which is especially uncomfortable for passengers in the back seat. The back seats of the Evoque feel extremely confined when compared to those of comparable compact SUVs like the X1 and XC40. But, the internal components are quite excellent. Stylish textured upholstery for the seats, door panels, and dashboard of the Evoque is an option. Leather is still available as a standard, though. Dual-zone climate control, 10-way power front seats, and ambient interior lighting are standard amenities. Although it’s not as roomy as you’d expect from an SUV, the area behind the rear seats did handle six carry-on bags during our tests. That is a sizable chunk of the segment.

Connectivity and entertainment:

The 10.0-inch infotainment touchscreen in every Evoque model uses Land Rover’s Pivi Pro user interface. Although the system is a vast advance over the InControl Touch Pro system from the previous generation, it still has some peculiarities that purchasers must get used to. The basic equipment includes navigation and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility. Furthermore, there’s the optional Meridian premium audio system with SiriusXM satellite radio, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and a heads-up display.

Driver-assistance and safety features:

Range Rover equipped the Evoque with a number of cutting-edge driver-assistance features, with more features available as optional upgrades. Visit the websites of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) for more information about Evoque’s crash-test results.

The following are important safety features:

  • Standard computerized emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle owner detection
  • Standard lane-departure caution and line of traffic assistance
  • Optional adaptive cruise with semi-independent riding mode

Thus you can see the Range Rover Evoque has several good points that you can consider and purchase. In India, especially Delhi it is available in Shiva Motocorp.
