Doctor Strange joined the Marvel Film University in 2016 and soon rose to prominence as one of the most prominent characters. He plays a significant part in Avengers: Infinity War, and in the most recent Spider-Man film, he effectively supplanted Tony Stark as Peter’s tutor.
At the same time, we didn’t learn anything, with the exception of the first film about Stephen Strange. He never did anything but react to what happened. After six years, the continuation of his own tale arrives, and with it, the opportunity to say more about this – even by MCU standards – somewhat atypical superhero.
The film is directed by Sam Raimi, who earned fame with the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire.
The concept of the multiverse is the second item we can finally learn more about thanks to the new comic book. The well-known comic-book concept crept steadily into the MCU. The earliest speculation about him was made before the film Avengers: End Game when many fans expected the universe to provide a way to Thanos’s defeat.
Even though it didn’t materialize, we glimpsed the “multiverse” in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Only here did this concept become an official part of the MCU, albeit so far only in the form of characters traveling from alternate realities to the main one. The new Doctor Strange is the first Marvel film in which the main protagonists explore alternate realms.
Doctor Strange in the Multitude of Madness takes set following the events of the previous comic Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as the WandaVision series. Strange has a bizarre, reoccurring nightmare, but she pays little heed to it.
Everything changes when Americas (Xochitl Gomez), the girl from his dream, appears in real life. America can freely move between realities, which is why she is tormented by odd monsters attempting to take away her ability.
Efforts to remedy Strange’s plight will lead to the appearance of another extremely powerful superhero, Wanda Maximoff. Those who see the teasers or posters for the film, on the other hand, remarked that it appeared different than at the end of Avengers: Endgame.
This is the first time that the MCU expects viewers to be familiar with not only the tale of prior films, but also the series. Otherwise, he won’t comprehend how Wanda became Scarlet Witch, the character shown in the new film’s posters. Understanding Wanda’s reasons require the audience to be familiar with the series.
WandaVision is now officially a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s not unexpected, then, that the events of the series are linked to the film. There are nine half-hours to hourly episodes in the series. Thus, the overall viewing duration is comparable to two medium-length Marvel films, which is not a large time investment.
However, seeing all of the Marvel films is no longer enough; we must also watch the series if we are to completely comprehend what is happening in the new movie.
In addition to WandaVision, the series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Hawkeye were launched as part of Phase 4 of the MCU last year. Both feature six roughly hourly portions. This, along with VandaWision, is a significant amount of time to dedicate to the university. And the MCU is still growing with new flicks.
If you thought last year’s Marvel movies were generally boring and uninspired (and we agree), the new Strange will finally please you.
An intriguing question is whether he is superior to Spider-Man: No Way Home. We believe so. Although Spider-Man brought a very original aspect in the shape of performers from prior Spider-Man films, it was otherwise just a traditional Marvel, where various negatives had to be beaten up again.
Doctor Strange goes even further, offering a unique perspective on the entire universe and pushing it even further, making the “multiverse” a regular element of it.
